Daruma
At Mrs. Lin's Kitchen
Japanese good luck charms are so fascinating, as most of them have a very long history. The Daruma is supposed to be something you get or recieve when you start a long goal and hope for sucess. When you start, you paint in one eye, when you achieve your goal (whether it be for some sort of resolution, an exam, etc) you paint in the other eye. These have a very long history and a very cool story behind them. If you're interested, look it up. It's really neat. |
