![]() When I moved to the dreary town of DuBois, PA, I thought that it wouldn’t have very much to offer in terms of ska, reggae, and soul. Basically, this town is a 60’s aficionado’s nightmare. But when I came across the American Outfitter’s store here in the mall, I was pleasantly surprised to see them fully stocked with today’s hippest T-shirts: Soul Rebel. These shirts, made on American soil in “a sweatshop free environment at our downtown Los Angeles factory”, as the tag so declares, are the most comfortable T-shirts one could ever imagine to wear. Made with 100% combed cotton, Soul Rebel shirts are made with the finest fabrics to grace man’s upper body, and with some spectacularly groovy 60’s-influenced designs to boot. My red Soul Rebel T-shirt proudly boasts “Jamaica 69”, but other designs include an elephant with the humorous line “Soul Rebel Massive”, or the cool “Vinyl Collector’s Preservation Society” for all you record geeks out there. The $26 price tag may be a little steep for some, but it’s definitely worth the cash. Unfortunately, they tend to wrinkle with usually just one wear, but a few swipes with the iron beforehand won’t kill you. - Twig Django |
